PNC Park is on the north bank of the Allegheny River, across the water from downtown Pittsburgh. There are loads of hotels downtown that aren’t too far off, but in general they’ll cost more than north shore accommodation.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Pittsburgh
Just along Federal Street, 0.1 miles from PNC Park, this average 3 star franchise offers 198 studio suites on 10 floors. It’s got an exercise room and heated indoor swimming pool, lounge and restaurant for lunch and dinner. For breakfast you’ll get a free hot buffet, and there’s free WiFi. Pets are not allowed and you’ll pay for parking, but the hotel offers a free shuttle service for local attractions within a 3-mile radius. Current prices go from about $164-$230.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites
Right across the street at 228 Federal Street is the higher rated 3 star Holiday Inn. It’s only 0.2 miles to PNC Park and offers 135 rooms and suites on 10 floors. You’ll get free WiFi and breakfast buffet, and there’s a bar, restaurant and indoor pool. Prices start at $140.
Residence Inn by Marriott Pittsburgh
Just off Federal Street, and to the west of the above two hotels, the highly rated Residence Inn is at 574 West General Robinson Street. It’s 0.2 miles to PNC Park, and offers 180 rooms on 10 floors, ranging from studios to 2-bedroom suites with a kitchen. The facilities are similar to those at the Holiday Inn, but this hotel is pet-friendly and offers full-service suites. Current rates start at $154.
Hyatt Place Pittsburgh-North Shore
This casual hotel is slightly further away from PNC Park, at 0.6 miles, but it’ll only take 10-15 minutes to walk there. It offers 178 rooms on 7 floors, with a choice of basic or upgraded. All rooms have 42-inch flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi, plus there’s an indoor pool and fitness center, a coffee/cocktail bar and a 24/7 cafe. You’ll pay for parking, but breakfast is free and pets are welcome. Current rates start at $150.
Restaurants Near PNC Park
Staying on Federal Street, there’s a Taps and Taco outlet near the Holiday Inn and SpringHill Suites. Heading west on North Shore Drive, you’ll find a couple burger restaurants, including the well-rated Burgatory. On the opposite side is The Foundry gastropub, where you’ll get a large selection of draft beers as well as great American pub grub.
If you’re exploring north of the freeway, into Deutschtown Historic District, you’ll be in range of pizza, an American diner and a Nepalese restaurant. Of course, once you cross the river, there are restaurants galore!
Local Attractions near PNC Park
While you’re so close, you can’t miss out on the Andy Warhol Museum, just at the end of his bridge. Directly to the west of the Andy Warhol Bridge is the Allegheny Landing, where you can stroll the riverfront park and admire the sculptures. While on the river, why not go for a Three Rivers Cruise?
You might also explore the Deutschtown Historic District, and then head west into Allegheny Commons Park. Here you’ll find a children’s museum, Lake Elizabeth and the National Aviary zoo. West of PNC Park, you might also visit the Carnegie Science Center. Directly opposite here, where the Allegheny River meets the Ohio and the Monongahela Rivers, you can see the Point State Park and its splendid soaring fountain.
